ZOOEY DESCHANEL

LANA DEL REY

LANA DEL REY

LAVENDER MERMAID
Happy Saturday lovelies! Hope you're all having a relaxing weekend! I wanted to share with you some illustrated lovelies before I get snuggled down to watch a Saturday afternoon film (Saturdays are for super cool films like The Lost Boys, Super 8, retro Disney) They are all available as prints in my etsy shop to hang on pink bedroom walls, or keep you company in your studio. I know there's two of Lana Del Rey but you gotta love her. Have you listened to Born To Die yet? #amaze

I'm working on some more loveliness at the moment which involves some of my favourite tv shows, more on that probably over at my blog soon! What are you enjoying watching lately?

New work from Abby

Hello everybody! After seeing Kayleigh's wonderful new work, I though I would share what I have been up to over the last week. I'm working on some new illustrations - subjects that I haven't tackled before but I'm really enjoying them! I'm hoping to offer custom pet illustrations soon, so have been working on example animal portraits. Here's the first, my mum's beautiful cat, Yoda.

And here are the beginning stages of a new flower and vase illustration. I loved producing such detailed line work for this piece. I will bring you the finished piece when it's, em, finished :)

New work from Kayleigh

Hey guys. Just a little Sunday post to show you my latest piece of work. I painted this canvas yesterday - it took me all afternoon/part of the evening. It's an image from the latest issue of Company Magazine - I thought it was a gorgeous picture so wanted to see if I could do it justice.
I'm quite pleased with it considering I haven't painted on canvas in a very long time. Part of me thought I couldn't do it anymore. Here are a few images of work in progress ::

I love the 50's vibe with the polka dot shirt and pastel colour palette. Now I want to freshen up my paint box and see what I can come up with next. I think the painting bug has bitten me again...

Illustration & Design Forum with Rachel; THIS SUNDAY

Just a quick reminder to all our lovely friends and fans that our very own Rachel Lewis is taking part in the Shipshape Studio Illustration & Design Forum this Sunday (15th April) in Hammersmith, London!

And we've got an 15% exclusive discount on tickets for all our Tea & Crayons followers if you book now! Just click here and use the discount code RACHELTALKS.

"A panel discussion and networking event on careers in the design and illustration industry.

During this intimate event, the panel will discuss careers in illustration and design, and will cover crucial aspects such as social networking and marketing yourself. There will be a Q&A session where you will have the chance to ask any questions about careers in the creative industry.

The artists will be exhibiting a selection of their work and it will be available to buy."

Rachel will be talking about her experiences through Uni and after graduation, getting freelance work, setting up a collective, and working as a graphic designer in the fashion retail industry; hopefully giving an insight into the different paths that you can take as a creative and the various ways you can make a living from doing what you love!

Hope to see you there! xx

This Week, We Love...

Well, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, love is everywhere. And as some of you may have heard, I got engaged on Wednesday!! So I'm feeling extra smiley this week! I thought this all seemed like a good opportunity to do a 'This Week, We Love...' on the theme of love!

Amazing personilised chocolate (from the chocolate shop I work in, Gorvett & Stone. Not at all biased!)

Fritha at Paperchase!

We have the most exciting news to share with you today at Tea & Crayons! Fritha's illustrations can now be found in Paperchase - in the form of cards, mugs, snow globes and more! Amazing! And the perfect Valentine's Day gift, I'm sure you'll agree.

It all began when Fritha decided to send a couple of her Valentine's Day designs to Paperchase in the hope they may be interested in using her illustrations on some of their merchandise. They obviously loved her style and thought her work was perfect for them. The illustration below was the final design they chose. It's instantly understandable why they wanted to purchase this illustration - the delicacy, the adorable character, the wonderful use of colour and the oh so cute heart balloon. We love it!

The following images, taken by Fritha, show her illustration brought to life in various products. I cannot wait to see them for myself. You can read Fritha's post about it here.

My personal favourites are those beautiful hand warmers, I need to get myself a pair! We're very proud of Fritha and perhaps we will see more of her illustrations at Paperchase in the future.. We certainly hope so!

Hello..

Hello lovely followers! It's Abby here. I haven't posted here in a while but today I took the absolute perfect photos for the Tea & Crayon blog! I work in a beautiful little chocolate shop (Gorvett & Stone) and as well as making chocolate, we make tea! (And coffee, hot chocolate etc..) Our display shelves that aren't full of chocolate are full of the most stunning tea cups and teapots!

As you can probably tell, it's a beautiful place to work!

In the meantime I've been busy posting lots on my blog. Here are some of my latest illustrations; I hope you like them!

Each photo links to my blog post about the illustration, so do have a look if you have time! :) The final images show a tutorial I recently completed for Digital Arts! I was so honoured when they asked me to write a tutorial. Those guys have been a great support throughout my career so far. This issue is still available in the shops if you wish to buy! (As is Company's High Street Edit, featuring three Tea & Crayons illustrators! So do have a look if you see it in the shops!)

Have a wonderful weekend (it's close!) everyone! Abby x
