This Week, We Love...

Well, with Valentine's Day just around the corner, love is everywhere. And as some of you may have heard, I got engaged on Wednesday!! So I'm feeling extra smiley this week! I thought this all seemed like a good opportunity to do a 'This Week, We Love...' on the theme of love!

As it's nearing Valentine's day and the little local shops and cafes are covered with a sprinkling of red and pink hearts, Lana del Rey is on repeat and our lovely Abby is more loved up than ever! (see her darling twitter feed) I thought it would be rather sweet to share some of the sweetest treats I've spotted on etsy. I started off with a sort of tea and biscuits theme, how amazing are the custard cream cushions? You could host tea parties with the cutest tea pot I've ever seen! Perfect perspex (well acrylic) words to brighten up any dress, for all of you with dates to attend! Pastel coloured candy numbers (and letters, too! Sweetie initials for your sweetheart? You'll be straight in the good books!) I hear these are perfect wedding favours/ place settings as well! *wink wink* And finally, a darling tote bag with my favourite colour (PINK) neon lettering, such a fab place to store keepsakes, sweets, wild flowers you've picked!

I am a few days early on this post but it might inspire you over the weekend for all your sweetheart finishing touches for the perfect Valentine's day! Have a lovely one darlings!

Fritha at Paperchase!

We have the most exciting news to share with you today at Tea & Crayons! Fritha's illustrations can now be found in Paperchase - in the form of cards, mugs, snow globes and more! Amazing! And the perfect Valentine's Day gift, I'm sure you'll agree.

It all began when Fritha decided to send a couple of her Valentine's Day designs to Paperchase in the hope they may be interested in using her illustrations on some of their merchandise. They obviously loved her style and thought her work was perfect for them. The illustration below was the final design they chose. It's instantly understandable why they wanted to purchase this illustration - the delicacy, the adorable character, the wonderful use of colour and the oh so cute heart balloon. We love it!

My personal favourites are those beautiful hand warmers, I need to get myself a pair! We're very proud of Fritha and perhaps we will see more of her illustrations at Paperchase in the future.. We certainly hope so!

You are just my type

 

Do you love Valentines or hate it? Think its just a silly commercial holiday? I'm a bit torn..

I love it, but  I do think its a bit silly that you should force someone to show they 'love you' on a certain day a year..why not say it/show it unexpectedly on another day in the year?
When I worked in retail I used to get hundreds of guys come into the shop at about 4.30 on Valentines day panicking about cards and presents..well that doesn't show someone you love them..that shows someone that you are supposed to buy them a card because everyone else is doing it..that doesn't really mean anything I don't think..

But I did end up doing these silly little cute cards..I am a bit of a sucker for 'cute' haha

This year we are going to Barcelona a few days before Valentines..that will be our Valentines and then Feb 14th will just be another day :) I cant wait! xoxo
