Happy Saturday lovelies! Hope you're all having a relaxing weekend! I wanted to share with you some illustrated lovelies before I get snuggled down to watch a Saturday afternoon film (Saturdays are for super cool films like The Lost Boys, Super 8, retro Disney) They are all available as prints in my etsy shop to hang on pink bedroom walls, or keep you company in your studio. I know there's two of Lana Del Rey but you gotta love her. Have you listened to Born To Die yet? #amaze

I'm working on some more loveliness at the moment which involves some of my favourite tv shows, more on that probably over at my blog soon! What are you enjoying watching lately? ♥ 

New Work from Rachel! Nonsensical Spam Comment Project

Rachel L here; I was inspired by Abby & Kay posting their new work so I thought I'd better get to it and share what I've been working on!

This is a new piece from my ongoing 'Nonsensical Spam Comment Project' - where I illustrate strange and nonsensical pieces of spam that my blog gets! This one has been a particular favourite for a long time - "How absurd and delicious it is to be in love with somebody younger than yourself. Everybody should try it."

I was playing around with the colours and the type for a long time; still not entirely sure if it's finished but I'm quite pleased with it. The lady is from old vintage advert I bought at an ephemera fair and scanned in; so are quite a few other pieces in this actually, for example the overlaid ticket and the line of music in the bottom right corner. It's nice to get some new work done! What have you all been working on?

Hello everybody! After seeing Kayleigh's wonderful new work, I though I would share what I have been up to over the last week. I'm working on some new illustrations - subjects that I haven't tackled before but I'm really enjoying them! I'm hoping to offer custom pet illustrations soon, so have been working on example animal portraits. Here's the first, my mum's beautiful cat, Yoda.

And here are the beginning stages of a new flower and vase illustration. I loved producing such detailed line work for this piece. I will bring you the finished piece when it's, em, finished :)

New work from Kayleigh

Hey guys. Just a little Sunday post to show you my latest piece of work. I painted this canvas yesterday - it took me all afternoon/part of the evening. It's an image from the latest issue of Company Magazine - I thought it was a gorgeous picture so wanted to see if I could do it justice. 

I'm quite pleased with it considering I haven't painted on canvas in a very long time. Part of me thought I couldn't do it anymore. Here are a few images of work in progress ::

I love the 50's vibe with the polka dot shirt and pastel colour palette. Now I want to freshen up my paint box and see what I can come up with next. I think the painting bug has bitten me again...

New Work From Rachel L: Illustration for Issue 2 of TANTRUM Magazine!

I was asked to contribute an illustration to Issue 2 of TANTRUM Magazine, the Music Issue. The article I was assigned to illustrate was a really interesting one, called Behind the Mask by Zachary Colbert. Looking at artists across genres and decades who use an alter ego or use masks as a part of their identity. It’s a good read, check it out on Page 17. TANTRUM is a fairly new magazine but the team are lovely and it's put together really well. It's online-only at the moment; let's hope they do a printed version soon!

Easter Weekend Goodness

Hey Crayonettes! Did you all have lovely sunshine-filled Easter breaks? Just want to do a little post full of all the things I got up to this weekend :)

I got a lovely print in the post from the ever so talented Sandra Dieckmann - do check out her work.

I went to Clacton-On-Sea with the family on Easter Saturday, did British things like play Crazy Golf and watched mother nearly die of the cold in the North Sea. Verr funny. (she was fine.)

Then on Easter Sunday, we mainly just took advantage of the weather, and my mum's lovely garden:

 Bracken had fun too.

I also de-weeded my own garden, back in London, on the monday, so that it's now habitable:

And lastly, finished a little banner illustration for the lovely Helen Martin's blog:

Fellow Tea & Crayoners Fritha and Natasha also did a banner too, I'm sure they'll be posted up soon!
